Five faculty members attended the Valley & Ridge Faculty Workshop for Sustainability held at Dickinson College in May.
Participating in the three-day workshop were Dr. James Pientka, professor of Physics and department chair; Dr. Andrew Belfield, assistant professor of Theology & Franciscan Studies; Dr. José Medrano, associate professor
of World Languages and Cultural Studies and department chair; Kevin Vogel, lecturer of Biology and chair of Environmental Studies; and Dr. Heather McDivitt, assistant professor of Philosophy.
The workshop included learning about Dickinson's sustainability efforts across campus, their infusion of sustainability education across their curriculum, and a trip to the organic farm operated by the college to see their biogas facility.
During the workshop, all faculty participants were required to create and share projects that explained how they intended to incorporate sustainability education within a course they currently teach.
