Our program prepares you for both the management and technical sides of the field. We also offer a  in cybersecurity.

• Career Advantage: Emphasis in both the technical and managerial sides of the cybersecurity field prepares students for careers in business, government, and law enforcement.
• Integrated Ethics: Ethics content is integrated at all levels of the curriculum to prepare students for the challenges of technology leadership.
• Small Class Size: An 11:1 student to faculty ratio ensures that you get the attention that you deserve. Professors will work with you 1:1 to accomplish your goals.
• Hands-On: Students gain practical, hands-on experience with the latest hardware and systems.
• Expert Faculty: Program faculty include accomplished professors of computer science as well as those with professional industry experience. 
• Industry Standard: Cybersecurity students gain the knowledge required to pass industry recognized cybersecurity certifications such as the ComptTIA Network+, ComptTIA Security+ and Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) examinations.

Cybersecurity students enhance their classroom learning by engaging in real-world experiences, such as internships and research experiences for undergraduates (REUs).

Here are two recent examples.

• Thomas Putman '22, a junior cybersecurity major, is working as an intern at the Software Engineering Institute for Carnegie Mellon University in the summer of 2021. He will share his internship experience after he returns to Ã山ǿ¼é in the fall.
• Harry Romesburg '22, also a junior cybersecurity major, will be working at an NSF-sponsored REU at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in the summer of 2021. He will work on a project involving the cybersecurity of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The Cybersecurity Program offers a B.S. in cybersecurity and a minor in cybersecurity.

Bachelor of Science in cybersecurity

Students in the cybersecurity program will learn the appropriate tools, techniques, policies, and technologies required to identify, analyze, mitigate, and communicate the risks of computer systems. The major helps prepare students for careers as information systems security.

Minor in cybersecurity

For non-majors, the cybersecurity minor provides a solid grounding in the fundamentals of cybersecurity to aid in the understanding of their major fields.
